What Causes Swollen Nerve Of The Eye?
Question: I have a swollen eye in behind the eye and the main nerve is not right,what happens in this case.They are running blood work ,MRi and lumbar spinal tap,which I'd like to be put to sleep for if possible?

It seems from the history that you are having swollen nerve of the eye. This indicates edema of the optic nerve and it is seen in inflammation of the optic nerve called as optic neuritis or swelling of the optic nerve because of raised intracranial pressure as occurs in neurological conditions called as papilledema.
In case of suspicion of papilledma MRI of brain and lumbar puncture are done to find out any lesion causing secondary raise of intracranial pressure.

Do you have blurring of vision, transient loss of vision?
Do you have symptoms of nausea, headache, vomiting?
