What Causes Swollen Lymph Glands At The Back Of The Neck?

default
Posted on Thu, 14 Sep 2017
Question: Hi there, I have swollen glands at the back of my neck due to a cold. I have an international flight tonight. It isn't to painful and its only on the one side of my neck but it does hurt when I cough or swallow. Will it be okay to catch my flight? Is there anything that can help with the swollen glands? Should I visit my local doctor before flying out?

Thanks for your help.

Brief Answer:
Medically it does not require doctor visit before flying for this .

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear

Thanks for using Healthcaremagic.com
I have evaluated your query thoroughly .

* These are reactionary lymph glands due to viral infection .

* Suggestions at present

- It is okay to catch your flight , no need to visit local doctor before flying out .
- Do gargles with salted lukewarm water and added peppermint oil every 2
hourly till you catch the flight .
- Inhalation of vapors of boiled water with blanket over head helps to relieve
inner congestion .

- Do not consume chilled water , excess sugar , spicy during flight .
- Maintain your hydration with plenty of liquids .

Hope this will help you for sure .
Wishing you pleasant journey .

Regards dear .
