Thanks, XXXXXX
Rheumatoid arthritis with postural hypotension.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for asking.
I am Dr. Prakash HM and I will be answering your query.
Looking at the clinical symptoms and query, my opinion is as follows:
1. It appears to be rheumatoid arthritis, possibly early onset.
2. Increased stiffness in morning and swollen joints in hands are commonly the initial finding.
3. Other symptoms like light headedness and blurred vision is possibly due to postural hypotension. It could occur commonly due to change in posture like from sitting to standing or sleeping to standing. Slow change in posture should help.
If it becomes severe, venous stocking for lower limb to avoid pooling of blood should be helpful.
4. Lower back pain and neck pain could be due to weak back. You will require back exercises and neck exercises to strengthen it. Physiotherapy will also be helpful.
5. For Rheumatoid arthritis, you need to meet a Rheumatologist. He will need to get an X-ray and blood tests done for confirmation. If a Rheumatologist is not available, a Physician will also be helpful.
You will require Disease modifying anti-rheumatic drugs to slow down the progression. Meet the doctor at the earliest. Both are common in the elderly. Not to worry.
Hope it helps.
