Question: 31 year old male experiencing swelling, pain and redness on the top of feet. No known injury that we know of. Has a history of using Crystal Meth. Normal weight. Has had very little physical activity in the last several months. Has been eating a lot of sweets.

Follow up: Dr. T Chandrakant (2 hours later)
Started in the last 24 hours. mostly in the right foot but some redness and swelling in the left foot. Not investigations done so far. No history of diabetes and has not been checked for diabetes.

I have uploaded a pic of the foot.

Hi.
Thanks for your feedback.
Noted the additional history and seen the pictures.
The toes look to be not affected. This indicates then, more towards lymphedema and may be lymphangitis.
The picture is also supportive of the same.
Whatever the cause, you still need a course of antibiotic- needs a valid prescription too; an anti-inflammatory like Ibuprofen if it suits you.
Most important is to keep the legs and feet elevated above heart level in lying down position as this is the best way to reduced the edema
Also needed are:
Tests of blood: CBC, filaria, Sugar, kidney function and as may be needed.
Tests of urine.
Ultrasonography and color doppler examination to watch for local extent, varicose veins.
Other medicines as per the reports and clinical evaluation by your Doctor.
