Brief Answer: HerpesIgG/IgM test & Urine-routine tst recommended Detailed Answer: Hi there XXXX. Apologies but questions tagged to specialists' appear on our dashboard & i noticed you requested for Dr XXXXXXX only after opening this query. I shall attempt to answer it to the best of my ability & dont have the benefit of referring to your last question..so shall limit myself to the problem at hand. I note your symptoms with interest. In my experience, pts with similar symptoms ail from a herpes virus infection. May i suggest at the outset to do a blood test for herpes..IgG /IgM for herpes1&2 : this will not only point us in the right direction, it will even tell us if the infection is new or old if any & give us a titre to work with. Stress is another possibility as 'referred' pain may be implied. Since there is no pain, burning etc on passing urine, a UTI may be safely ruled out. However, a routine urine test may be done to rule out any casts/stones/debris: sometimes very rarely kidney stones in ureters may manifest with this sort of referred pain. I do hope this advice will help alleviate your symptoms once we have these two test results in. Dr Praveen Rodrigues MD

The colour of the urine is little dark. I took 1gram Azithromycin two days ago but there is no difference.

Brief Answer: Urine test to be done; Herpes test. Detailed Answer: I dont quite understand why you took the 1 gm azithromycin. In any case, it will have taken care of any latent bacterial infection if any. Please do a urine routine examination. Is your wife exhibiting any symptoms? Is there any other contact in the past that may have passed on an infection inadvertently or is there something lodged in the psyche perhaps that reflects physically? We shall cross that bridge when we come to it. For now, please do the Urine test & the Herpes IgG/IgM tests. Regds. Dr Praveen Rodrigues

Brief Answer: Fluid replacement therapy & patience. Detailed Answer: I hope you did the urine test as well. This will give us a better clue if you need any treatment. Also, the fact that you took 1 gm Azithromycin should suffice for the moment. Don't worry; wait for the reports; By God's grace, I wish they are all negative & this will put your mind forever at ease. In the interim, please drink lots of water/fluids & if I may be candid & suggest a half pint of beer to help flush out any infection or small stones! If however you are a tea-totaller, please go for the non-alcoholic variety that is available in India nowadays. I prefer to avoid any unnecessary medications unless there are solid scientific grounds for the same; no need to try to fix something not broken :) Do take care & load/offload the fluids...cheers!
