What Causes Swelling In The Penile Shaft?

Question: I had intercourse last Wednesday for about two hours. Afterwards I had a swollen shaft near the head of my penis. Swelling went away, but now I have a painless grissle like lump under the skin about like a grain of rice. Do I need to have it evaluated or is this a normal condition for a 40 year old man?

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. The penis si a muscular structure. It is clear that this structure was excessively used. It is possible that there was a partial tear of some muscle fibers and those fibers are going to retract to make a bead like formation (what you refer to as a gristle-like lump). You need not get concerned about it. However, it might remain there. Interventions are unlikely to help and unless there is an increase in size nothing needs to be done about it.
