Posted on Tue, 1 Aug 2023
Question: I have swollen hands and feet everyday. Sometimes my hands are so swollen I cannot get rings on or off. They are swollen either when I wake up in the morning or midday or at night. My feet also sweat really bad & my socks are damp everyday. I have sleep headaches several times a week and mu urine smells bad. I also have gained 15 lbs in 2 years and cannot lose it no matter what I do. I walk a min. of 10,000 steps a day and keep my calories around 1800. I am a 43 yr old female. I am 5'8 and weight 159. I had a hysterectomy for endo 2 years ago and this is when most of this started.

Brief Answer:
Please refer to the detailed answer below.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

I would like to tell you that swelling of the limbs isn't normal after a hysterectomy. This may occur due to edema but the cause of the edema needs to be evaluated. Need more information from you if you have any other medical illness like diabetes or hypertension.

You also need evaluation for any lymphatic blockade due to previous surgery. Kindly get checked, your blood pressure, thyroid profile, fasting lipid profile and blood sugar levels, kidney and liver function tests.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

I do not have diabetes or hypertension. I do have CEBV and CFS. I have had them for 14 years after a bout with mono at 29. My blood pressure is always normal. I had the diabetes test done 1 1/2 years ago and the dr. said I was no where close to diabetes. My brother has juvenile diabetes and both of my parents have type two (diagnosed in the last 5 years). However they are both overweight. My Mom is my height and has at least 50 lbs on me. My dad is 6'1 and about 230.
