Posted on Mon, 10 Aug 2015
Question: there is swelling in my left eyeball. I saw a doctor, he advised me to do digital xray and than give me a 5 days tablets course. After 5 days i just saw him again and he was surprised to see there is no improvement in my eye's condition. than he told me that there is nothing more he can do but to suggest me to go to a eye specialist plastic surgeon, but before that i should do CT scan of my eye. I have no idea whats going on with my eye. I am so much worry about my eye please guide me what should i do under these circumstances. There is a continuous pain in my eye but i can feel my left eye is bigger than my left eye. Please advise, my job is a setting job in front of laptop. Basically i spend 12-14 hrs a day in front of laptop. My vision is good (I dont have glasses) but as per doctor i will need glasses of .25 positive in both eyes so as per him i better start wear

Needs further info.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir,

I understand your concern.

Could you please provide information regarding swelling whether outside the eye or within the eye? or else upload me the image of your eye.

You might need a scan( ultrasound vs CT).

I would like to discuss further after receiving your reply.

Post your further queries if any,

Thank you.

Brief Answer:
FESS and Antral wash is advisable.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir,

Gone through your reports,You seem to have Periorbital edema which could be related to sinusitis or upper respiratory infection.

I advise to get a FESS (FUNCTIONAL ENDOSCOPIC SINUS SURGERY) OR Antral wash by consulting ENT surgeon

So meanwhile I advise you to continue present medication and also zymer eye drops 4 th hourly under expert supervision.

Periorbital edema untreated may lead to orbital complication,so an Ent surgeon advice is a must at the earliest.

Post your further queries if any,

Thank you.
