What Causes Swelling And Pressure Of Anus Radiating To Back And Hips?

default
Posted on Mon, 16 Jun 2014
Question: Hello I am XXXXXXX and I have had a problem for about 2 years. I had a weight lifting accident while doing squats and so I developed a varicocele which I had surgery for and is mainly fixed now. However, I also have pain and pressure in my back and also a full feeling in my anus. My lower back feels like there is a dip or indentation Like there is pressure or swelling. I also have a small hole above the anus. My anus feels swollen( especially after bowel movements) and has a pressure that radiates into my back and hips. It feels very sensitive as well and when I "flex" my penis it feels as though i cant and am only flexing my swollen anus. When engaged in sexual activity i have to use positions where i am standing and using my legs for support because the swelling causes my penis to become sensitive at the tip and causes spasm that lead to premature ejaculation. I really want help and am hoping i can finally fix this problem. In short I have lower back pains and a swollen and full feeling in my anus. I have looked into it and done research and it looks like it could be proctisis? Also sometimes it makes me have to urinate a lot in a small period of time or the sensation that I have to urinate.

massaging my back and buttocks helps a little bit it feels like everything gets a bit of relieve and isnt as tight and swollen but it only helps very little.

Brief Answer:
Further tests are needed..

Detailed Answer:
Hi there,

I have gone through your medical history and the photos you uploaded. Unfortunately, the picture quality was not good enough for accurate analysis. However, I did not notice anything unusual locally (in your anus).

The swelling you feel might be related to constipation. I want to know if:
- you have noticed blood in stool?
- have had difficulties in passing the motion (constipation)?
- do you practice anal sex?
- when was the last time you got your urine and sperm analyzed?

Lower back pain could be related to the weight lifting accident you had 2 years back and/or to uro-genital problems. Further examinations are needed to determine the right problems and get proper treatment:
- abdominal ultrasound
- urine analysis
- sperm culture
- sigmoidoscopy

Depending on the tests results, specific treatment will be prescribed.
