What Causes Sudden Sharp Right-sided Pain In Neck?

default
Posted on Mon, 11 May 2015
Question: I woke up about 2 weeks ago from a sound sleep with an intense, sharp pain on the right side of my neck. Now the collar bone is painful to the tough, swollen and misshapen. Neck massage and stretches haven't helped. What could this be?

Brief Answer:
It could be fracture clavicle or dislocated shoulder joint.Get a XRay done.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome to Health Care Magic. Thank you for posting your question.
I can understand your concern.

There could be a muscle pull , irritation of the nerve ,fracture of the collar bone (clavicle) or dislocated shoulder joint - to name a few possibilities.
It would have been great had I examined you on my own.

I would suggest you to
- Get a X-Ray of the right shoulder
- I would start tablet Aceclofenac and Tablet Ranitidine- this will reduce the pain
- Apply ice compress over the area.

Visit an orthopedician.He/she can examine and correlate clinically.
Do not worry much.
