What Causes Sudden Seizure Like Body Stiffness In Child Diagnosed With Autism?

Question: My grandson has been diagnosed with an egg allergy. I don't think that is the problem. while I was watching him he was crossing his legs, his eyes were unblinking and he was stiff. It looked to me as if he was having a seizer. He is just starting to talk. (he will be 3 in May) I believe he has a form of autusim due to the systems that I have seen in him (my son was diagonsed with autism). He is on a waiting list to get tested. My biggest concern is the seizer behavior. What questions do we have to ask or what other things could this be?

Brief Answer:
Visit another pediatrician and get him evaluated

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

If you think that the child is having seizures, you should get him assessed by a doctor. An EEG can be done to make things clearer.

For assessment of autism, the first step is to answer questions from the m-chat checklist.

If this caregiver answered questionnaire indicates a high probability, all you need to do is to mention it to your pediatrician and he will indicate the things to be done. You may ask him for details and he should explain. I do not think that you need to be specific.

Hope that helps.
