Brief Answer: Redness can be due to heamorrhage Detailed Answer: Hello, Thanks for posting your query on HealthCareMagic. Sudden appearance of redness in the eye is a serious issue. Was it associated with any kind of pain? If not then this may be due to hemorrhage in the eye. Are you suffering from hypertension> Hypertension especially malignant hypertension can cause spontaneous rupture of ophthalmic hemorrhage. Is there any history of trauma to the eye?
