Brief Answer: statins can cause muscle pain Detailed Answer: HI, thanks for using healthcare magic Muscle aches and pains can sometimes occur as a result of using statins such as simvastatin. In most persons, discomfort related to statins occurs after 6 months of use (though some persons have experienced it up to 4 yrs of use). It normally stops within 2 mths of discontinuation if this was the only cause of the pain. The other medications are not known to have this effect. It is possible that your soreness is not related to your medication but as a result of some other trauma or strain to the leg. Pain in the muscles can also be related to issues in the associated joints as persons would tend to compensate for the joint pain. The meloxicam, because it is anti inflammatory should help with the muscle pain. Rest and application of heat pads may also be helpful. If you are worried about the contribution of your medication to your pain then you can consider speaking to your doctor. There are statins that are less likely to cause muscle pain. I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
