What Causes Sudden Hand Tremors?
Question: What is the cause of shaking so bad that I can not fill a glass of water without spilling more than I am filling. This happens very infrequently, only 2 times in the past 6 weeks. Once while I was in bed, not quite asleep and again last nite while I was watching tv. Both times i didn't have a fever or chills. No upset feeling. Just uncontrolled shaking all over my body.

I can understand your concern. The infrequent shaking of body at your age could be "Tremors". Tremors can occur due to various cause like
: Senile tremors - Old age leads to diffuse cerebral atrophy. It can cause senile tremors. This type of tremor is usually "Coarse".
It can be one of the cause in your case.
: Cerebellar tremors due to atrophy, alcohol intake, nutritional deficiency. This type of tremor is "Intentional tremors", occurs only while doing work. It stops in retina state.
: Parkinsonian tremos - Parkinson is a disease of brain due to basal ganglia damage. It mostly occurs after 70 years age. It causes "Resting tremors", occurring only during rest. The tremors are usually associated with slowness, rigidity in body, abnormal gait.
: Alzheimer disease - Age related brain disease due to cerebral cortex damage, usually presents with memory loss, forgetfulness, altered behaviour (dementia). It can cause "tremors" just like senile tremors.
As you had only two episodes of tremors, that means no serious disease stage. First you should consult "neurologist" to confirm your illness. He will advise
: Clinical examination, higher mental function test
: MRI brain
: B12 level
This is to confirm the illness. I think most probably the tremors are age related (senile tremors). But confirmation is needed. Final treatment will depend upon confirmation.
