Brief Answer: Blood tests/ stop blood thinner medicine/ ER Detailed Answer: Hi. Your Medical History of Type 2 Diabetes, HBP (controlled). Aortic valve replacement in 2009 noted. I think you must be on some form of blood thinners( medicines to avoid clot formation since you have a replaced heart valve) It is likely that the bruise you got must be due to this Medicine. I think this is to worry about and I would advise you to visit the Doctor/ ER to get your blood tests done particularly pertaining to the bleeding time, clotting time, prothrombine time and index. Please tell the attending Doctor specifically about your Medical and medicine history and He/ She would be very happy to go for immediate tests. Till then just stop that particular medicine if you are on it. The Doctor would also examine the local area to rule out any other problem
