Question: Hi, I have been going to a gastroenterologist, but I'm not getting any results for my problem, my problem I throw up horrible every few nights. He put me on Omerprazole 40mg, then I read the side effects, and the Emergency doctor told me to just take Zantax 150mg, but that's not working either. My doctor did a cat scan on my stomack and told me I just had a bug, but I've had stomach bugs before, and this is nothing like it. I ususally throw up at night and horrible. I don't know what else to do. PLEASE HELP ME

Brief Answer:
GERD/ Acid reflux symptoms

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. Stomach discomforts and vomiting episodes are likely due to gastritis or GERD for which you were prescribed with omeprazole. Every drug has adverse effects mentioned but it does not mean you are going to get them all. There are very few odds to get adverse effects on a PPI like omeprazole. You should not have stopped.

Your doctor has ruled out any worrisome cause for vomiting and vomiting at night is a classic symptoms for acid reflux. Your emergency doctor should not have discouraged the use of omeprazole. Start reusing omeprazole and also modify diet and lifestyle like avoid chocolates and sweets, lose weight, no spices or NSAIDs, eat small frequent meals. Keep a gap of 2 hours minimum between a meal and lying down.

These are acid reflux symptoms GERD and slight modifications and use of antacids help to recover.

I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
