What Causes Stomach Cramps Post Embryo Transfer?

default
Posted on Sat, 18 Oct 2014
Question: Hi, I am following ICSI treatment and went for embryo transfer on 13 November (11 days ago). This is second round of treatment for me, last time implementation didn't result in pregnancy. I had menstrual like cramps around the same time last time and have some light ones again now. I take pregnancy test in 1 week. Do cramps mean treatment is likely to be unsuccessful again this time around?

Brief Answer:
RELAX, CRAMPS MEAN NOTHING EITHER WAY.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
Cramps do not mean anything either ways.
Relax.
They can just occur as a result of the embryo transfer, or due to the medications.
Of course, they might mean approaching period, but dont read anything into it.
It is much better to remain optimistic and positive.
Avoid all kinds of mental stress.
The only definitive yes or no is provided when you take a pregnancy test.
SO dont worry right now, even about the cramps.
Even stress can cause cramps.
Take all medications diligently and pray.
All the best
