Question: Hi, on Wednesday I got my first iron infusion, Thursday I was eating heaps and had increased appetite, yesterday (Friday) i was not so hungry so had to for e myself to eat some cornflakes, in the afternoon I started to get waves like I was going to spew and surely enough I was then spewing up all my food then when none left yellow liquid assuming bile, this continued all night I would wake up once an hour and over heat or be freezing afterwards, is this normal? I also have stomach cramps, headache, muscle aches which I was told are regular symptoms.. I've stopped spewing a couple hours ago but I'm scared it'll start again if I eat or drink..

Brief Answer:
These symptoms are because of side effects of iron infusion.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thank you for writing to Health care Magic.

The symptoms mentioned by you like stomach cramps, headache, muscle aches, decreased appetite indicate side effects related to iron infusion.
These side effects are commonly seen and will resolve over 2-3 days as our body gets adjusted to the iron levels.

These symptoms are not alarming enough to require a medical consultation. Hence I advice you to wait and see so that symptoms can resolve.

If the symptoms does not resolve then need to consult your doctor. We at our hospital treat side effects by the use of analgesic and antiallergic tablets for symptomatic relief.

Hence I advice you to wait and see and if the symptoms does not resolve do consult your doctor for prescription of drugs.

Hope the information provided is helpful to you.
