Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

Upper left side is where a part of stomach is located indeed. So such symptoms can be caused by any stomach issues including peptic ulcer or stomach inflammation.
Upper left abdomen is also the area where a part of large intestine is located. And such fullness and pain can be also caused by partial bowels obstruction due to some large intestine lump. As you are over the age of 50, colon cancer is what should be ruled out. To do that colonoscopy is necessary.
Typical bowels obstruction symptoms are cramps like pain, bloating, occasional gas obstruction, diarrhea and constipation alternately. Weight loss and blood in stool can be also present.
I suggest you to consult your doctor and start with basic diagnostics. Abdominal ultrasound, blood work (low hemoglobin level is what can suggest colon cancer) should be done at first. Gastroscopy should be considered and colonoscopy scheduled.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
