Question: i have a stinging pain on bottom side of left breast right along outside edge of my areola. It started the day after my husband sucked on breast during sex. I have no fever, no swelling, no rash... just a stinging feeling if rubbed the right way. any suggestions as to why this might be? Went to general practitioner and she says there is no signs of infection and she does not feel lump... feels like I should just watch it carefully until I get into my gyno. I worry about inflammatory breast cancer.... should I be concerned?

Sorry the delay... I'm new to this site and still learning how to navigate it. I just learned I can ask a follow-up question which i did have. I forgot to mention in previous post that i have red streaks on bottom of breast which have been there for a couple of months. I didnt really think anything about it until last night when I was looking at IBC BEFORE I read your above post telling me I shouldn't worry. I thought these red streaks were stretch marks since I have gained 20+ pounds in past 1-1 1/2 year after being put on fludrocortisone to keep my BP from dropping on me. Now I'm a bit worried that these aren't stretch marks. How can I tell the difference between stretch marks and ridges associated with IBC like Peur D Orange ( I'm sure I spelled that wrong). I do have a few of these red marks on my other breast but nothing to the extent of my left breast... which is the one that burns/stings. Do you still feel like I shouldn't worry until I get in to see my doctor for mammogram? I do have a doctors appointment this week but it can seem like eternity when you are worried about your health... especially cancer. I wasnt for sure if these red marks would change your opinion as above.
