Brief Answer:
it does not look like an infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello

From your complaints it looks like your husband has developed either a temporomandibular joint (TMJ) also called as jaw joint dislocation or arthritis and this can be due to abnormal jaw movements during oral sex or can also be due to forceful yawning.

Please dont worry , just ask him to take rest and avoid excessive chewing / hard food and apply hot water bags to the affected/tender site for few days.

He can continue his pain killers for few more days.

This is unlikely to be due to an infection , so i dont ou have to worry much.

if however , the pain does not subside in 3-4 days , or increases , or he develops fever, i would like you to meet your doctor.

Take care

Can you please address the question related to the stiffness of the neck? He's experiencing pain in the back of his head too. He also says he has a sore throat in the last couple of days. How long should we expect this to last?

Brief Answer:
he may be having a throat infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Since your husband is having a sore throat also along with the neck stiffness, then it is more likely that he is having a throat infection and this is more common following oral sex.

Please dont worry. Just avoid oral sex for few days and ask him to gargle with warm salt water 2 to 3 times a day.

I am sure he will be fine in a day or two!

Take care!
