Brief Answer:
Ultrasound should be done

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Spotting or bleeding in early pregnancy can be due to ectopic pregnancy, sub-chorionic hemorrhage or abortion. Ultrasound can make a definitive diagnosis.
Therefore I suggest to get an urgent ultrasound done and consult an OBGYN specialist.
