What Causes Splotches On The Abdomen And Legs?

default
Posted on Sat, 6 May 2017
Question: I am having splotchy skin on my abdomen and down my legs and on the inside of my calves. I had been having hives on my abdomen for a few months. I thought that I might need to do an elimination diet but never got to it. Although I started eating very limited and did a few days juice fast very recently. It seemed to help a little. But now it is all very prominent again. I eat very clean and am quite healthy. I am 53 male. The splotchy skin on the inside of my upper calves comes and goes. I was also taking Aldera for actinic keratosis periodically over the last four and five months. I thought that might be the cause and I am no longer taking it. I also will note that over many years I often need to scratch on the inside of my upper thigh in the upper adductor region right next to my testicles. I never notice any skin markings but it just itches a little. I am a pretty sensitive person to everything......

Brief Answer:
Seems to be eczematous rash, steroid, moisturising lotion & antihistaminic

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at HealthcareMagic
I have gone through your complaints as well as reviewed the attached photographs.
You seem to be having eczematous rash.
If I was your treating doctor I would recommend you to apply topical steroid like clobetasol propionate cream diluted in a moisturising lotion in the ratio of 1:3 on the affected areas twice daily for 2-3 weeks and take antihistaminic like tablet Cetrizine 10 mg once daily at bedtime.
Steroidal preparations are prescription drugs and you need to see the doctor in person to get them.
Your rash doesn't seem to be related to aldera or any diet.
Regards
Dr Asmeet
