Brief Answer:
Impulse on coughing and reducibility.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query, albeit short and specific.
Noted the history and understood your concerns.
The following tests will help you to know whether this is recurrence of hernia or muscle strain:
Put a flat of a palm on the affected area and cough or strain hard to increase intra-abdominal pressure - if there is an impulse, this is most probably hernia. If not then it may be sore muscles.
If at all there is an impulse on coughing and there is a bulge, it should get reduced too to say that this is a hernia.
If the muscles are sore, both these tests will be negative and there may be increase in soreness of hard coughing.
High resolution ultrasonography further helps to differentiate.

I hope this answer helsp you to get an early proper diagnosis and a proper plan of management.
