Brief Answer:
can be viral infection

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the query,

It is possible that you have been suffering from viral infection of the throat.
Viral infections do not respond to antibiotics. That is the reason you are not feeling better inspite of taking antibiotics.

Viral infections produce generalised symptoms like tiredness, bodyache, unwellness.

They run their course and subside on their own.
You can follow some general measures which help to get over the infection.
1) Drink plenty of warm fluids . 4 litres per day.
2) Do not eat or drink anything cold.
3) Avoid using the airconditioner and fan.
4) Do warm salt water gargling 5 times daily.
5) Eat fruits that are rich in vitamin c like lemons, oranges and sweet lime.
6) Get plenty of rest and eat nitricious food.

You can take pain killers like tylenol for the pain after checking the dose.

Dr Rajkishori Godhi.

I find my symptoms are worst after coming from the gym. Could my tonsils be infected? I sometimes worry about cancer in throat?

Brief Answer:
cancer unlikely

Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
If there is sore throat then the tonsils can be infected.
Continue the course of antibiotics that has been prescribed to you.
If you are worried about cancer then see your doctor again. Its unlikely that you have cancer.
