Brief Answer:
consider chloroseptic or covonia, anti inflammatory pain killer

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Most sore throats are viral though bacterial infections can also occur. Viral infections would also cause enlarged lymph nodes.

Bacterial infections are more likely if the fever is high and persistent and the pain does not respond adequately to pain medication.
Antibiotics are needed for bacterial infections but would not help in a viral infection, taking antibiotics with a viral infection when not needed increases the risk of resistance (MRSA).

It would be best, if there is no evidence of bacterial infection, not to take the mox 500mg, an antibiotic.

You can use the strepsils , also consider chloroseptic or covonia throat spray which contain anti septic and pain killer.

Use an oral anti inflammatory pain killer as well eg ibuprofen, naproxen

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

So I don't have fever but I feel feverish. The left tonsil has swelling and some white patches. The right side is fine. When I swallow I have ear pain on the same side where the tonsils are inflamed. I also have trouble talking and I find it difficult to open my mouth. I feel I was also salvating more than usual.

Does this additional information help diagnose between viral and bacterial

Brief Answer:
likely bacterial based on patches

Detailed Answer:
HI

White patches are more likely with bacterial infection but if you wish to be sure you can visit your doctor for a swab.
The apparent increase in saliva you are noticing is because there is difficulty swallowing it so it appears to be more.

Your options would be to use the pain killers and oral sprays alone to see if they are enough to help your pain or use them along with antibiotics but it is always best to confirm infection with a doctor.
If this is not an option then you can choose the option that best suits you.
