Question: I have a sore throat, cough, headache and body aches. I was exposed to someone who had a cold/flu this week. Is there anything in particular I should be doing other then resting? Thanks.

Brief Answer:
It seems that you have caught a flu

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,

I have gone through your question and I understand your concerns .
Other than resting, you can take ibuprofen 200 mg or paramol tablets every 8 hours to relieve the headache and body aches. As for cough, you should take an expectorant if you have phlegm. Look for an expectorant that contains gauifensein as Mucinex.

Also drink a plenty of fluids to prevent mucus from getting thick. If you don't have phlegm then take a cough suppressant as dextromethorphan. As for sore throat, a soothing throat lozenges would help along with warm fluids.

I hope I answered your question. If you don't have any other clarifications then please close the discussion and rate the answer
