What Causes Sore Neck And Heavy Head Post Head Oil Massage?
Question: Hi doctor .
I am 24 male. I had gone for a haircut at the barbershop 6 days back. After the haircut, I asked him for a head oil massage. During the massage, the barber used a vibrating machine on the scalp. Then he started hitting hard, not very hard, on my head and I was caught unawares. I told him to stop immediately. He proceeded with massaging my scalp slowly. After the massage, me head and neck felt sore and heavy. i had a tingling sensation in my head. During the course of the week, I seem to have regular amounts of pain in the neck area above my back, and a tingling sensation in my head. Now after 6 days, even today as I am writing this, I feel heavy headed and have a tingling sensation at the back of my head. Should this be a cause of worry or is this just a muscle sprain? Can the barber thumping my head cause brain damage? I feel sincerely worried. please let me know what i should do.

Don't worry at all. This is not brain damage .
Many a times due to harsh massage thst barbers do people develop muscle spasm and peripheral vertigo.
But there is nothing to worry. It would go by itself with time.
However if you are severely troubled you may take tablet Betahistine 8 mg thrice a day. It is commonly available with name Vertin. You can take this for 3 days.
