Brief Answer:
Allergies and colds are similar diseases

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXX
Welcome to HCM.

I have gone through the question and I understand your concerns.

It seems that you have a stuffy nose and you think it is because of an allergy. This is possible but the symptoms of a cold and an allergy are almost the same.

A cold usually happens due to a virus and causes stuffiness of the nose. An allergy happens because of any allergen that is causing the issue. The allergen will cause an increase responsiveness of the nasal passage and cause it to produce more mucus.

Here are a few things that you can try to help you:
Drink lots of water
Inhale steam to clear the nasal passages
Sleep well and at least 8 hours at a time

If you are not better after 7 days, please see a doctor to get medication for this.

I hope this helps answer your question. Please post a follow up if you have more questions.

Wish you a speedy recovery.

Thank you. I really do not think I have a cold. I am quite in tuned to my body being a healthcare person, physical therapist. And a cold just feels different.

Brief Answer:
It can be allergies

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXX,

It is possible for you to have an allergy. An allergy can start at any age and presents like you have described.

The things that I recommended are still valid. Also, try to identify the allergen and then avoid it.

This will help to prevent further problems. Medications take time to take effect and it may take a week or so for you to recover.

I hope I have answered your question. Wish you a quick recovery.
