What Causes Small Painless Lesions On Gums?

Question: I have 2 very small painless lesions above my teeth on my gums in the roof/back of my mouth. They can barely be seen but I can feel them with my tongue. They have been there for 3 weeks. What could they be, I am concerned that it could be syphilis?

I have gone through your query and reference photograph also that you have attached , as you have Restored tooth ( Premolar) and Initial occlusal caries in First molar .

This small painless swelling in can be due to Secondary caries in Premolar (restored ) tooth so there is formation of Periapical Abscess (Pus Formation ) at root apex or this swelling can be due to infection in Gums ( Periodontal Abscess) also due to Food lodgement at region of Restoration .

So what I will suggest you that there is nothing to worry XXXXXXX as far as I have observed in your Reports that you there is No sign of Syphilis .

For this you Can do XXXXXXX warm saline gargle two - three times a day.

For Examination of this swelling you should consult Dentist and go for investigations Intra oral periapical Radiograph and if it is Gum infection go for Oral prophylaxis .

Thankyou for your response. The lesions feel more like a break in the skin than a swelling in. Would this fit what you have said? Would syphilis look a lot different than the photo you have seen?

I have gone through your query, and as far as I Observed in your photograph there is no sign of Bacterial infection, that is Syphilis that you are scared of.

There is no need to worry much as I have suggested you to Consult Dentist for Visual Examination and Evaluation and this break in skin can be due to formation of Sinus tract due to infection in gums .
