Posted on Thu, 9 Jun 2016
Question: Hi .. My baby is 25 days old..she is having slight discoloration in the corner if both eyes.. When we tested for bilirubin on day 14 ..the level was normal(7.8) ..but still the colour is not fading.. What can be the cause , and is it a concern to worry? Also she shows some discomforts while going to poo.. Seems she is having gastric problems as well . . I can hear some gurgling sound from her stomach.. Is these somehoe related.. Please provide me a detailed diagnosis ..
( She is fed with breast milk only, she urinates often 7-8 times a day ... Motion is yellow in colour. )

Brief Answer:
All this is normal - don't worry at all

Detailed Answer:
Hi....wherever you are saying is normal finding for this age group.

1. Please check bilirubin and get back so that we can decide on this particular issue. Sometimes physiological jaundice can get extended for various reasons. That's why I am suggesting this.

2. Discomfort while going for poo is also normal. It is not a gastric problem.

3. Gurgling sound in tummy is due to normal intestinal movements.

Please get back of you have any further questions.
