Question: My penis sheds skin and also becomes very itchy red and inflamed. I also have problems with my skin on my head legs thighs, eyelids, nipples. I've had no luck with over the counter medicine. Can you help?

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Shedding of penile skin may occur due to many reasons as follows:
1. Infection due to yeast
2. Phimosis
3. Balanitis
4. Sexually transmitted infections
5. Dermatitis
6. Psoriasis and eczema
7. Manual friction during masturbation

If you are also having similar problems elsewhere then yeast infection, dermatitis or psoriasis must be considered. Each of these are treated by different medications and need to be first confirmed by consulting a dermatologist. Yeast infection is the commonest condition and is treated by antifungals.

Hope your query is answered.
Please do write back if you have any further doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
