What Causes Sharp Stabbing Pain In The Left Side Of The Chest?

Question: I am a 39-Year-old female; overall good history; nonsmoker; with a sharp stabbing in the middle of my chest, more on the left side. This has been happening off and on for a month. I have also been getting sharp stabbing pain in my upper right arm, and today now my left upper arm that went up to my shoulder then disappeared. I visited the Instacare already today, and they took an EKG which showed normal and were able to get two vials of blood for testing (Can't remember the name of the two tests.) The pain normally happens when I am sitting upright; not active. I did some research online and found that I have symptoms close to Pericarditis. I wonder if this might be what it is?

On March 8, 2017 I reached out to a friend who is a RN about the following information below. This is when I started noticing chest pain afterwards.
Here is what I described to her...This morning after working out for 20 minutes not that intense as I normally do. I started (sorry for the TMI) having gas. Then I went to the bathroom and was having severe constipation it felt like. Well I have gone through this before, so I recognized this. Then what is weird I started sweating heavily, having a hard time breathing, felt like I was going to throw up and come out in the other end. Eventually my face around my mouth and nose started going numb, both my arms went numb, and my hands starting closing and I couldnt open them normally, I had to force my palm to open with my other hand. After telling myself to calm down, deep breaths, and opening the window to let the cold air in, I started resuming normal tempature.
I still kept having solid to loose stool, but my constipation got better.
I am not sure if this is related or the starting point of my issue?

Detailed Answer:
Hello Ma'am

After going through the medical details provided by you I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that yes it could be due to pericardial involvement or could be due to pleural involvement or can also be due to costochondritis or may be simply a muscle soreness.

If your Ecg was normal I would like to suggest you to personally consult a cardiologist for proper physical examination and get an Echocardiography and a chest xray done.

I hope this information will be helpful and will guide you properly.

Kind regards
