What Causes Severe Tailbone Pain When Diagnosed With Bilateral Avascular Necrosis?

default
Posted on Wed, 12 Oct 2016
Question: Just want to add that in November of 2015, I was experiencing much pain in my coccyx area. A CT scan showed bilateral avascular necrosis of my hips without collapse. Since then, nothing has been done nor has this diagnosis been addressed!

Brief Answer:
Active intervention not needed if there is no collapse.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The bilateral avascular necrosis of both the hip joints does not need an active intervention if it has not yet collapsed. Since the necrosis is an old one, revascularization is not possible.
Once the hips get collpased due to old age, the hip replacement is a good option. In case the pain is intense even then a replacement can be considered. No active treatment is needed if there is no pain.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.

While I appreciate your response, I posted an entire page of other doctor appointments, tests performed, results and diagnoses. This question is the last part of information that I added at the end! Not sure why you didn't receive ALL of my questions!?! I would NOT pay $29 to ask 1 question!!!
