Question: My right leg are very swollen what should I do and there is some moderate pain

1. Right leg swelling - duration , progress , extent ( whole foot , how much leg )
if you press thumb in swelling is there pitting
overlying skin changes in color , temperature
remains persistent 24 hrs or more when work or move
aggravating or relieving factors

2. Left leg is absolutely normal or less swelling than right
3. Systemic problems as fever , breathlessness , weight alterations in recent
4. Current medications of thyroid , heart problems , blood thinners
5. Thyroid work up done when at last under control levels
6. Activity level
7. Smoking if any

My right leg has swollen all the way up my left is net swollen at all my activity is low have troble getting my breathe have gained 5 pounds in the last few days only blood thinner is aspirin

* Recommendations for better recovery

- Consultation with Surgeon on priority basis .
- Keep leg elevated over 3 pillows under leg , calf when resting .
- Remain ambulatory with light exercises .
- Need basic evaluations in form of
* Laboratory tests - complete blood counts , ESR , thyroid profile , fasting sugar
- coagulation profile
* Radiology - doppler ultrasound of the right lower limb
- x-ray chest
- Keep your BP under control .
- Tab. Tylenol ( 500 ) mg morning and evening after meals for pain .
- ER visit if
* Change in color of toes , severe numbness , difficult walking , unbearable pain
bruises on legs
- No smoking if doing .
