What Causes Severe Pressure In The Lower Abdomen?

default
Posted on Mon, 17 Oct 2016
Question: I have a great deal of pressure in my lower abdomen/pelvic area. It's been 4-5 days now. Also pain on lower right back, near the buttocks. Heating pad and ibuprofen and laying/reclining are the things I have done to help it. Sitting and walking are both VERY uncomfortable. Any ideas? I can't see a dr unless its absolutely vital....

Brief Answer:
It is better to consult your physician for investigations.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
A great deal of pressure in the lower abdomen can be due to constipation, urinary infection, disc prolapse or an ovarian cyst. All these causes need proper investigations like urine test and an ultrasound scan for evaluation. If the home treatments that you are doing are not helping then i would suggest you to consult your physician for a detailed evaluation so that specific treatment can be started according to the cause.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
