What Causes Severe Pain In Toes?

default
Posted on Fri, 1 Apr 2016
Question: My foot has hurt for over 5 months. I can bend my toes backwards with absolutely no pain. However, when i attempt to curl my toes (on my left foot only) inward (toward my heel) it hurts. Some days are better than others. I can feel pin when I probe with my finger the bottom part of my feet all the way up to -- but not including -- my heel. There is some sensitivity when I walk, however, no real pain while walking. It is really painful when I use my finger to try to curl the third tow from the big toe inward. It is especially painful - sever --when I attempt to push the base of that third toe inward.. SLight pain with the toe next to the little toe. No pain whatsoever with any other toe.

HI Thanks you for your answer. I Can't remember or rule out that this is due to trauma; it started long ago. I don't believe I have diabetes but am boarder line diabetic. No thryroid problem, other than cold nodules. I feel more fatigue with moderate exercise than in earlier years. What is osteoporosis? Neuropathy?

Brief Answer:
Osteoporosis is lack of calcium in body

Detailed Answer:
hello,
Osteoporosis is weak bones due to lack of calcium and vitamin D3. It causes weak bones and early fatigue. There is always chances of fracture with trivial injury. Some time there is stress fractures even with out trauma. It can be diagnosed with BMD test. It is very common to have osteoporosis at your age. I would recommend you to take Calcium and Vitamin D 3 daily to maintain bone health.
Neuropathy can also cause such pain. This is common in Diabetes and also in old age when there is low serum B12. it can also cause fatigue and joint pain. For diagnosis you need to get your serum B12 estimation. If there is deficiency then vitamin B 12 injection can be given for ten days.
I hope this answer will be useful for you.Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
