What Causes Severe Neck Pain With Night Sweats And Fever?
Question: right side of my neck is now hurting not the throat but the neck on the inside. My pa said no infection ,tonsils are swollen it is painful more so at night voice is horse now and I have a new cough as well as heart burn. My lymph nodes still swollen on left side. I am still getting night sweats face hot like I have a fever during the day yet my temp was 98.1 at my pa's office today. The ct done 3 weeks ago shows bine swollen nodes my pa told me. Blood test show no infection and look good she said. My body hurts all over sore muscles and I am so tired all the time. Hormone levels came back good my pa told me so no menopause. I have bad head aches almost daily. My thyroid test say normal levels yet I was meds for it for four years until now. Lower back pain on right side not constantly just come and go sharp pain. pressure on left side of my chest when I lay down to try n sleep. what could all this be. my pa told me take Tylenol for the pain and an over the counter med for the swollen tonsils and neck pain like ibuprofen. She wants me to go to an ent she told me today but I cant get in to see an ent for 20 more days and this would've been fine if it didnt star to hurt last night on the right side/center of muy neck what should I do?

Hi,
All your description ends me in favor of an infection of your pharynx. Your tonsils if they were swollen could be allergy or infection. Ibuprofen 400mg is a good option at the moment as your pa suggested. She was exactly right. You should rest and take ADVIL/MOTRIN 400mg up to three times a day after meal. Your PA can actually prescribe you antibiotic like Amoxycillin. I am sure Ibuprofen will definitely will improve your pain and voice. Along with it I suggest you warm water betadine gargles to soothen.
