Question: Hi, I donated blood for the first time on Friday. Saturday I woke up and both my lower legs were trying to give me a XXXXXXX horse. Saturday and Sunday I got a XXXXXXX horse in my right side of my back. I have been super fatigued. I figured it was from giving blood. I contacted the Red Cross and they said these are not symptoms of giving blood and to contact my doctor. I have contacted my doctor and am waiting for them to get back to me. Should I be concerned? Brief Answer:
Please share your recent/last hemogram reports!

Detailed Answer:
Hi! thanks for your query!

In fact, blood loss due to donation in a camp is generally harmless as it is only done after strict screening of the potential donor. Your symptoms of severe muscle cramps/pain could be related to vitamin deficiency, exhaustion, nerve irritation or though rarely, anemia!

Therefore, please share your last blood counts/values so that I could have a look to opine if the symptom was possible due to recent blood donation.

thanks,

Hi, I don't understand what you mean by "due to donation in a camp". I am waiting for a password to get my last multiphasic blood work so I can forward it to you.
I just uploaded my last test results from March 2015

Brief Answer:
Everything is okay in that report!

Detailed Answer:
Hi! thanks for your response!

Blood donation sometimes received in bulk in a camp and the selection could be random/relaxed in such instances...!

However, your attached blood report is fine and I'm waiting for your latest multiphasic report; please share it ASAP and in the meantime you may take a high energy protein/sugar drink/food and multivitamins for some relief!

regards,
