Brief Answer:
You need to continue monitoring Renal functions and avoid nephrotoxins

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to HealthcareMagic! Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in best way possible.

First of all, it is sad to know what you had gone through. Based on the history you have shared, let me tell you that you have summed up all the relevant details in a very simple, concise yet so comprehensive way.

I can understand that, you are worried about the damage to renal functions been caused by non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs like Ibuprofen. It's good that you understand the matter now.

Right approach from here on wards is to avoid anything which can infer further damage to the kidneys including using the low dose of ibuprofen as you can opt for safer alternatives from kidneys point of view like acetaminophen etc. Other supportive measures like physiotherapy can be of help if something like the previous muscle issues kick in again, and would be more safer approach.

Keep very good hydration according to the output and keep on monitoring the renal functions every three months along with urinalysis for any early signs of protein leak and kidney ultrasound for cortical thickness, corticomedullary differentiation, and renal echogenecity and keep a close liaison with your nephrologist.

Do discuss with your prescribing doctor in case if you need some antibiotics. Also mention about the GFR. The metallic taste needs to be evaluated with fresh renal functions to look for urea levels and keep good hydration and monitor for any worsening at the moment.

Using zinc and vitamin C supplements can be of help too.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
Regards.
