Question: I have at times weakness in my legs, trouble walking, like getting out of a golf cart to just walk. Other times walking in a park, mall or like legs seem to give out. I am a male 68 yrs old, with some high blood pressure issues taking amlodipine. I remember as a young boy that my paternal grandfather could hardly walk at all. My father (deceased-heart disease)) had trouble waling in his later years. I can be fine at most times but legs just seem to give out at various times and has become more pronounced over this past year. Is there a specific medical specialist that I should consult.

Brief Answer:
Could be Arthritis or spinal Canal stenosis

Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxxxxxxxxx , I am Dr Gopal Goel , an Orthopedic Surgeon.
Your basic problem is difficulty in walking and sometimes you feel that legs may give away.
The main possibilities are 1. Hip and Knee arthritis
2. Spinal Canal Stenosis( narrowing of spinal canal with pressure on the nerves.
3. Parkinson's Disease
In these cases Orthopedic Surgeon and Neurologist would be able to help you. In my opinion you need X rays of Knees ,Hip and MRI of lower back.
Hope I have answered your question. Pl feel free to ask any further queries
