What Causes Severe Itching On The Scrotum?
Question: Extreme itch on scrotum,forced to scratch until layer of scaly skin is removed, then I finally get relief. It's an itch like no other I've ever had. The area down there seems particularly sweaty the last couple months which of course irritates the situation. In the last 2-3 days, a painful rash between right leg and svrotum has developed. Ive been getting plenty of shower time, -I've noticed after lathering And rinsing really well, and drying area as dry as I can dry it, my scrotum begins ti itch as if somebody's under there sticking me with needles. The itch stops when the layers of skin are scratched off. It's horrible, could I email you "post scratching photos?

I understand the concern.
Knowing or Unknowing you are intiating the itch and scratching it. Scratch further cause itch. So the cycle of itch-scratch-itch has to be stopped by all means to give relief and blunt the complications. You should look for good anti itch medications like Hydroxyzine up to 25mg a dose. Also cut your nails to the last so that you just rub and do not scratch it further injuring the skin. Wear pants at night and tie knots so that you do not scratch at night during sleep. You can apply CALAMINE with ALOEVERA gel over the scratch areas at night or whenever it itches.
Further it looks your Tinea, a fungal infection, commonly called jock itch. Terbinafine or Clotrimazole should be helpful. Commonly available anti fungal dusting powders are helpful immediately after shower. The area should be kept dry.
All these measures would definitely help.
