Question: I have a condition on the bottom of my foot that itches like crazy and has some discolored under the skin spots and a red rash. I've tried cortosone cream, anti-fungal cream and antibiotic ointment and nothing seems to help. It itches really, really bad.

Brief Answer:
Fungal infection v/s Eczema

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thank you for getting back with the answers. I have gone through them as well as the image. Most probable differential in this case would be Eczema & tinea (fungal infection). As there is strong history of itching so fungal infection would be on top of the list. To confirm if it's fungal infection, you need to get scrapping from the foot for microscopic examination. Fungal infection would require oral antifungal medication while eczema would require steroid treatment. I would suggest you to visit hospital & get an appointment for a "Consultant Dermatologist". He will examine the skin and take scrapping. Systemic therapy would start after confirmation. Meanwhile following measures will help reduce the problem temporarily:

- cetirizine one at night for 5 days
- Application of moisturizing agents or emollients like vaseline.
- Keep foot dry, specially after taking bath.
- wear open shoes to avoid accumulation of sweat.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help if not then don't forget to close the discussion and rate it.
Wishing you good health !!
