If you have a sedentary job the foremost thing to do is to keep getting up from chair every 30 minutes to avoid the spasm of the smaller back muscles. IF they go into spasm the necessary blood supply to these muscles is compromised and more problems.
So keep getting up from the seat. You should take back support if required. Sometimes doctors say that the dinner chairs are the best ones for the back muscles without much suffering. The back has to maintain its natural curvature.
