Posted on Thu, 16 Oct 2014
Question: I have been feeling very low in health and feel my regular diet is unable to provide me enough nutrition, as I do not have glow on my face, I have extreme hairfall and my stamina is very low.
I am a vegetarian and overweight, although I do not indulge in fast food.
I would request you to kindly recommend if I could take some vitamin supplements which could help me in improving my general health.

Hello XXXX
I would like to know few more details.
Since when are you feeling low?
Since when are you having hair fall? How many number of hairs fall per day?
Do you have any history if medical illness?
May I know your height and weight?
Do you have regular menstrual cycles?
Have you done any recent blood tests like hemoglobin, thyroid, vitamin B12 or other tests? If yes, kindly upload reports.
Are you taking any medication?

Since you are vegetarian there is chance of vitamin B12 deficiency.
Kindly get back to me with details.

Hello Doctor

I am 151 cms and 61 kgs.
I have not had any medical illness histrory .
I had my haemotology test done a couple of months back which was alright.
I have been feeling low on a regular basis but as i was not involved in much regular physical activity I did not face much issues but now that I have started swimming I realised that I really lack in stamina and also, my immunity is low as I have been catching cold much often.
Hair fall has been regular since last few years but has been drastic since I have started swimming. It is like a handful of hair everyday and whenver I wash my hair the quantity doubles.

I have dark circles and have no glow face, which is really making me worried now.

I shall be grateful for your advice to improve my health condition.

regards,XXXX

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX
It is good to know you do not have any medical illness.
Yes, according to your weight and height you are overweight.
For swimming you have to put physical effort which can cause tiredness and you have started recently. .
If you have not done vitamin B12, Vitamin d test and thyroid then I suggest you get it done.
If you already done and tests were normal then no need to go for tests.
I suggest you multivitamin medication once a day after lunch for 2 months.
If you are feeling tired with swimming I suggest you go for alternative exercises to reduce weight.
Hair fall: It is increased may be due swimming pool chlorinated water.
If you have dandruff I suggest you use anti dandruff shampoo.
I suggest you MINTOP 2% apply twice a day and gradually you can increase to 5%. You should use it at least 3 months for better results. If you see better results you can continue 3 more months. No side effects.
Eat healthy diet like fruits, vegetables, nuts, oats and poultry food.
Eat small meals frequently. Avoid heavy meals before bed.
Drink plenty of water.
Restrict coffee and tea.
If you have any queries I will be happy to help you.
Thank you.
