Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar, a neurologist, here to answer your query.

I need to know some details in order to answer your query-
1)Do you have Diabetes, Heart disease or any other illness?
2)What is your dizziness like- does the things around you revolve or is it a dizzy feeling just inside your head?
3)Is there a postural relation with dizziness- is it more in standing posture?
4)How long does the dizziness episode lasts?

I have a non-specific irregular heat beat and take diltiazam for it. No diabetes or other problems. The dizzy feeling is inside my head. There is a postural relation. I mostly feel nauseated when sitting/lying down and dizzy when standing. A bad episode will last almost all day. A mild episode, only a few hours.

This may be ralated your cardiac issues.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for being in follow-up.

The postural dizziness you are having may have a close association with your irregular heart beat. You should get a comprehensive cardiac evaluation done.Postural dizziness can typically occur in cardiac disorders.I suggest you to follow-up with a cardiologist.

Hope that helps. If you have any further questions,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up.

When I am experiencing any significant irregular heart beats I am not dizzy or nauseated and my cardiologist does not find anything to account for the dizziness.

Brief Answer:
Autonomic evaluation/Blood work

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for being in follow-up.

In that case, this needs a work-up to rule out postural hypotension; ie; BP in supine and standing position.
Other blood tests including serum electrolytes, Haemogram, Kidney and Liver function tests should be done to rule out any abnormality.

Autonomic neuropathy can result in dizziness on standing and consequently, an autonomic function evaluation is desirable.

Hope that helps. If you have any further questions,I shall be glad to answer them.
