Brief Answer:
Steroid cover should be given

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Even in the presence of false labour pains, one should be given steroids for fetal lung maturity, as chances of preterm labour are increased in such cases.
You should get a second opinion from another OBGYN specialist for steroid coverage.
Hope you found the answer helpful.

Brief Answer:
Back pain likely

Hi dear,
If the pain is not associated with uterine contractions and not radiating, then it is most likely the back. It does not seem to be labour pains.
