default
Posted on Mon, 29 May 2017
Question: I stopped breathing and had possible seizure (1st time) the other night. My husband woke up and shook me and finally breathed into my lungs and then I passed out so to speak, but I was breathing. I bit my tongue and lip and next day the surface of my tongue was white and kinda fuzzy looking all day. Any ideas what happened? Also my muscles have been sore like I hiked the grand canyon ( leg muscles mostly) but he said my body was contorted...

Brief Answer:
suspected Seizures

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HealthcareMagic.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

As you rightly suspected, the first condition to consider in your case is epileptic seizures.

Sleep apnea also is another condition to consider.

In cases of new onset suspected seizures, full examination protocol should be followed.

Neurological examination, EEG and video EEG, brain imaging (MRI) are indispensable investigations to achieve a correct diagnosis.

At your age, brain conditions such arteriovenous malformations, space occupying lesions, etc. should be considered and excluded.

So please get evaluated by a Neurologist and proceed further.

Hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care.
