Question: I have had lyme disease for 30 years. Differantcases. I now have it in my brain with seizures. From an untreated bitelast October. I called my Doctor s office and a nurse said I couldnt do that. I thouught she ment I couldnt Have a test from them because in the past they thought I had cronic lyme. So I forgot about it til this year. Had severe memory loss and thought I had alsheimers . So I went to neurologist . and tests showed goop under pathway was gone. The office didnt call me to make an appt. So nothing happened except seizures in brain, So called a lyme Dr, who treated me in past, He said need alumbar puncture. What happened to other tests? r they not vallid? I not rich and I am a care giverto mom and husband.Im scared and I told him didnt want or need it. They told me to find another Doctor. Brief Answer:
Lyme disease cannot produce death easily

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I think you are worried more than you should be. I know you situation as a care giver to your mom and husband you would be concerned about them if you are not well.

If the doctor did not get back to you or gave an appointment they meant that it is not serious or the cause of lyme disease. If you frequently fall with seizures I think you should see a Epileptologist / Neurologist and get the seizures treated than Lyme disease which was not thoroughly proven. I did not understand the term 'goop under pathway was gone'. Was it MRI finding? A Neurologist would still be able to deal with epilepsy due to chronic Lyme disease.

So I think you are still safe consulting a Neurologist for the seizures.

I dont have cronic lyme. I know the difference. Mine went untreated because I miss inturped when a nurse told me I could not have a lyme test last fall.GOOP is my laymans term for what I was told. Which is there r pathways in brain to transfer info from one side of brain to other, Under neath this electrical curant is a path way that has something to help transferanc ofinfo and mine is gone because of the many lyme diseases Ive had. The wholething makes me afraid to get a spinal . I also haveptsd. Cant move with spinal procedure, Ptsd has a knee jerk responce. Also why doesnt Nerogist findings conclusive for lyme, So I dont have to endure spinal and expence?

Brief Answer:
Spinal procedure may not be needed.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Untreated Lyme would result in chronic Lyme disease and the effects are obviously on brain.

I am still not able to comprehend your terms properly. I had not heard of GOOP But with what I had understood technically is that you do not have any effects of Lyme disease and your Neurologist is not convinced to treat you against Lyme. Most probably you may not need spinal tap.

I do not mean to offend you but you may need to consult a Psychologist/ Psychiatrist with a past history of PTSD (Post traumatic stress)
