What Causes Seizure After Missing A Dose Of Levipil?

Question: My son now 25 started taking the treatment for the first seizure attack ....levipil 500gm three years back..... Missed doses one full day so got a seizure last December......took doses of three per day again yesterday missed the doses got another attack yesterday night.....
How long will the doses last and will he Stop having them ever??

I have noted the clinical details of your son. Most patients require anti-seizure drugs for at least three seizure-free years (three years since the last seizure). By that criteria, he needs to take medicines for at least three more years.

It also depends on his MRI brain and EEG reports. If possible, please upload the reports.

Thank you for the briefing Dr XXXXXXX My son, XXXXXXX had this attack due to missing the dose....so in that case too the next three years he has to continue the treatment?
August three years will complete when he had it for the first time..... should he get the MRI done again for knowing the effect.....of treatment..till now.

Yes, he should continue medications for three more years, even though seizure recurred due to missing the dose (the commonest cause of seizure recurrence in most people is missing the dose).

There is no need to repeat the mRI, if the MRI was normal first time.

Dr . XXXXXXX ,MRI was showing the Chemical imbalance as reviewed here by Dr ,three years back.

I am sorry Dr....in my worried state of mind stated wrong, it was only EEG report that showed spike.....i will
try to upload......MRI was normal , infact all tests were normal.
